Maria Anenoglou LLB (Hons) BA JD
Maria works in BSP Lawyers’ property, commercial and hospitality practice areas. She works closely with our directors and senior lawyers to provide clients with up to date advice across all aspects of commercial, liquor licensing and banking and finance areas.
Maria’s most recent experience in these areas includes:
- Obtaining liquor licences for various businesses at Emporium and providing general advice on liquor licensing issues faced by both landlord and tenants. This included liaison with the Victorian Commission of Gambling and Liquor Regulation to solve issues such as patron capacity, new entrant training and designations of red-line areas (particularly where there is a food court).
- Assisting with the sale of various businesses, including the Ivanhoe Hotel. This involved organising releases of PPSR discharges, transferring the liquor licence and gaming machine entitlements to the purchaser to ensure a smooth transition.
- Preparing advice on contested jackpot winnings at a client’s venue. This involved researching a solution regarding the distribution of winnings that was fair and reasonable, in a situation where the law did not provide a clear cut answer.
Maria graduated from Monash University with a BA and LLB (Hons) in 2013. She commenced her legal traineeship with BSP Lawyers in February 2014 and was admitted to practice in March 2015.
